Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist at CNN and HLN. She is frequently featured on CNN's 'New Day Weekend"', and HLN's "Weekend Express', as well being a regular guest on CNN International programs. She served as an in-house meteorologist at local stations for three years in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before she joined CNN. She's covered fires, flooding, hurricanes as well as blizzards. In the year 2019, she was nominated to win the Emmy award for covering the hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, when more than 350 tornadoes were reported in the Southeastern United States over a time period of four days, 200 of them that occurred on the 27th of April was nominated as well for an Emmy. Because of her training in environmental science, she's also reported on volcanoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters, in addition to reports on climate change. Chinchar has a Bachelors of Science of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She is a member of a variety of organizations, including that of American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
